The Site and Buildings
Eco-lodge
Dundonnell in Wester Ross is where we propose to site an 8 bedroom Escape Lodge using natural wood and stone materials to blend the building as sensitively as possible into the landscape.

Our Site at Dundonnell, Wester Ross
![]() In the centre of the above photograph you can see a bare area in the forest. A mature 50 year old Sitka Spruce crop was recently felled here leaving an ecologically ravaged site in need of much care and attention. This is where we propose to build Escape Lodge and the Thatched House Township.
The land is being replanted to our specification with Scots Pine and mixed native broadleaves such as Birch, Hazel and Oak.
If our planning permission application is successful we will landscape and care for the 11 acre site and make public access paths with a view to creating a beautiful woodland for generations to enjoy.
We plan to construct 8 traditional thatched stone 'bothy' style buildings. We aim to keep these as traditionally furnished as possible, echoing the way our ancestors lived with simple furnishings and box beds. These will be available to members of the Township Project for holidays all year round.
The township also has a service building to provide toilets, showers, and cooking facilities. This will be a single storey building with a turf roof.
