to live amongst, and in balance with, the natural surroundings
to use natural materials and alternative technologies where possible
to maintain environmentally responsible day to day living wherever possible
to work towards being self-sufficient in power generation
to reduce waste wherever possible by careful purchasing and recycling
to promote the care and conservation of the land, sea and wildlife around us
to encourage the use of public transport
to develop Escape Lodge with respect for, and minimum impact upon, the existing flora, fauna, landscape and community.
We aim to bring you close to nature and wildlife in a relatively low-tech manner. That means providing adequate bathroom facilities but not one per guest - so, sorry, no ensuite rooms!
We encourage less use of electricity by avoiding things that use it - our kitchen is not full of gadgets and our rooms don't have lots of table lamps.

"You recycle your empties and you've dabbled in organic apples but that's as far as it goes. Shelling out for an eco-holiday is maybe one step too far into tree-hugging territory.
Who wants to chew over Third World debt problems with a bunch of bio-bores in a leaky bamboo hut? You need a holiday not an endurance test.
But green holidays have come a long way. The last ten years has seen the beard and beads brigade replaced by switched on, shockingly normal entertainment seekers."
